Sri Golokdham Goshala, Mysore Road is envisioned as a divine abode resembling Goloka Vrindavana, where bulls are protected and cared for as sacred beings connected to the service of Lord Krishna. The goshala harmoniously blends spiritual values with practical sustainability, creating an atmosphere of peace, dignity, and reverence.
The goshala provides a peaceful and protected lifelong home for approximately 90 rescued and abandoned bulls, ensuring they live without fear, neglect, or exploitation. These bulls belong to valuable indigenous varieties such as Hallikar, Deoni, Jallikattu, Punganur, Gir, and other native breeds, preserved with care and responsibility as part of India’s traditional agricultural and cultural heritage.
Each bull is cared for with love, patience, and respect, while the surroundings remain spiritually uplifting through kirtans, festivals, and devotional gatherings. This spiritually charged environment benefits not only the bulls but also devotees, families, and visitors who experience tranquility and inner joy upon visiting.
Sri Golokdham Goshala promotes self-sufficiency and eco-friendly living through the responsible use of bull-based inputs, organic farming practices, and sustainable rural models. These initiatives strongly reflect Srila Prabhupada’s vision of simple living and high thinking, where material needs are minimized and spiritual growth is prioritized.
Srila Prabhupada explains this balance beautifully:
“When there is sufficient milk, grains, fruits, and vegetables, people can live peacefully.”
— Srimad Bhagavatam 4.18.7, Purport
The goshala encourages families, youth, and well-wishers to participate in seva activities, cultivating compassion, gratitude, responsibility, and devotion through direct engagement and service.
Situated near the Bangalore University (BU) Campus and the Indian Statistical Institute, Mutturaya Nagara, Sri Golokdham Goshala serves as a serene spiritual refuge amidst the urban landscape—reminding society that true prosperity is achieved when animals are protected and human life aligns with nature and God.
